Practical (2 days)
Scenario-based field training includes thermal and visual deployments for structure fires, large-area search tasks, damage assessment, and post-incident documentation.
- Crew setup and communications: Briefings, role assignment, IC check-in, radio discipline, and safe launch and recovery zones.
- Thermal scene assessment: Roof and exterior scans, exposure monitoring, hotspot identification, and heat-trend reporting.
- Structure fire overwatch: Stand-off observation, collapse-zone awareness, smoke-column tracking, and egress route checks.
- Search and rescue support: Grid and orbit patterns, likely-area prioritization, terrain scanning, and subject handoff to ground crews.
- HazMat and perimeter reconnaissance: Remote observation from safe distances and documenting changing scene conditions.
- Damage assessment and contingencies: Post-fire imagery, mapping, lost-link response, low-battery recovery, debriefs, and logging.
