FT30-P Payload Drop System
The FT30-P Payload Drop System is a DJI SDK-based dual-hook drop mechanism designed for the DJI Matrice 30. Controlled via DJI Pilot2, it allows operators to release payloads with precision using the remote controller. The system supports a maximum loading capacity of 10 kg across both hooks, although for optimal safety and flight performance, a payload of 500 g or less is recommended per drop.
Each hook is powered by a built-in high-performance servo motor capable of handling up to 5 kg individually. The compact, slope-sliding decoupling mechanism ensures minimal size impact on the aircraft and maintains the integrity of the M30's frame.
Operating the FT30-P on DJI Matrice 30
On the rear of the FT30-P system, you’ll find two buttons, each corresponding to one side of the aircraft. These control whether a hook is in loading mode or drop-ready mode.
When the hook is horizontal, it’s ready to be loaded.
When the hook is vertical, it’s primed for dropping.
If the hook is vertical and no load is attached, press the button once to reset it to the loading position.
After securing your payload, press the button again to set it to drop-ready.
To drop the payload, unlock the system in DJI Pilot2 and select the corresponding side.
Understanding the Drop Icons
In DJI Pilot2, parachute icons visually indicate drop status:
Left Hook: Parachute icon with a single dot
Right Hook: Parachute icon with two dots
The icon color also signals the state:
Green: Hook is horizontal; load not attached or not primed for drop
Red: Hook is vertical; load is attached and system is ready to drop
This visual feedback ensures safe, clear operation during live missions.
