The MicaSense DLS2 Downwelling Light Sensor helps improve the accuracy and consistency of multispectral imagery by measuring ambient light conditions and sun angle during every flight.
The DLS2 records lighting information in the image metadata, allowing compatible processing software to account for changes in illumination during a mission, such as changes caused by cloud cover.
The DLS2 also provides GPS data to compatible MicaSense sensors when an external GPS source is not being used, helping ensure aerial imagery is properly geotagged.
