The Hovermap ST-X incorporates the latest in LiDAR sensing technology to deliver high-density point clouds with increased coverage. Featuring a sensing range of 300 meters and more than a million points per second, the Hovermap ST-X captures detailed, accurate data over a greater area in less time — giving operators faster time to insight across a wide range of survey and inspection applications.

The Hovermap ST-X excels at both indoor and close-range scans, producing sub-centimeter results through advanced navigation capabilities including the award-winning Wildcat SLAM solution, Automated Ground Control Points, and improved LiDAR sensor accuracy.

Uniquely versatile, Hovermap ST-X captures data in any environment — mount it to a drone for autonomous aerial mapping in GPS-denied environments, or easily remove it for use as a handheld, backpack, or vehicle-mounted scanner. Use a combination of these modes to rapidly capture as-builts and digital twins in minutes rather than hours.

Autonomy and Operating Modes

This payload provides beyond line of sight flight through Smart Waypoints and Guided Exploration. Simply tap on the live-streamed map to set smart waypoints and it navigates to the waypoints, maps the area, and keeps itself and the drone safe from obstacles. Omnidirectional collision avoidance and line of sight GPS-denied flight capability support close-up inspections, while fast mobile scanning modes serve environments where full drone autonomy is not needed. Switch between autonomy modes during flight as needed.

Live Data Streaming and Viewing

Hovermap ST-X live streams the point cloud to the Emesent Commander App, providing a real-time preview of data as it is captured. The optional Long Range Radio accessory enables live streaming and device control up to 20 times further — allowing real-time data viewing and smart waypoint setting for Guided Exploration from extended distances.
