DJI Zenmuse L3: Next-Generation High-Accuracy Aerial LiDAR
The DJI Zenmuse L3 is DJI's flagship long-range LiDAR payload, designed exclusively for the DJI M400. The DJI Zenmuse L3 combines a 1,535 nm Class 1 eye-safe laser, a high-precision IMU, and dual 100-megapixel Micro Four Thirds cameras in a tightly integrated all-in-one system. Capture ultra-thin point clouds at high altitude — recommended 300–500 m AGL — with up to 16 returns and adjustable point rates to match any terrain, from dense canopy to tall infrastructure.

Longer effective range: Up to 950 m vs. the L2's shorter envelope, with proven flights at ~830–900 m line-of-sight in mining environment tests.
Smaller footprint, more ground points: Improved canopy penetration and wire detection compared to the previous generation.
More returns: Up to 16 returns at lower point rates for complex, multi-layer scenes.
Dual 100 MP cameras: Larger FOV than the LiDAR sensor for better colorization and ortho output; selectable 100 MP or 25 MP capture modes.
Star-shaped scan mode: Adds penetration in urban canyons while maintaining point cloud accuracy.

3-axis gimbal freedom: Pitch –120° to +60°, yaw ±80°, roll –90° to +60° — supports facade scanning and oblique capture.
Compatibility: DJI M400 only. The Zenmuse L3 requires the included M400 gimbal bracket with anti-drop rails. Not compatible with M300, M350, or existing L2/P1 mounting systems.
